Serve The World Offering March 3, 2013

Our next STW offering will go to fight malaria by purchasing mosquito nets for World Vision. 655,000 people die each year from mosquito born malaria. Just $6 can buy a chemically net that could save the life of a child in Africa. Just a few dollars after your regular tithes and offerings can make a real difference in the world.

Chair Team members needed

This is a ministry almost everyone could do. Just an hour one Saturday a month and one hour one Sunday. Easy! But this is the most understaffed ministry in our church! We can’t do all of our “between Sunday mornings” ministry without this team. To join, contact Steve Pylkas at steve@twinoakschristian.com.

The Water Project

We just received initial info on the 3 projects our December offering will fund to bring clean water to thirsty souls.
We’ll be digging a well in Rwanda and repairing 2 wells in Sierra Leone. Click the links below for more information and pray that God will use these projects to save lives and save souls. The Water Project will post specific details about the project, including locations, as they are made available by their partners.

Coming in 2013:

“40 Days in the Word”
– January 27-March 10.  This is an all – church emphasis on Loving, Learning, and Living the Word. For 40 days through the messages, small groups, and devotional guides we will learn to not just be “hearers” of the Word, but also “doers” of the Word! We will reignite and strengthen our passion for God’s Word together.

“Jonah, Navigating A Life Interrupted” (Ladies Bible study)  A 7-week study beginning in February led by Louise Catton with video teaching from Priscilla Shirer.

“The Story”
Fall 2013 – For 31 weeks our entire church, from young children through adults, through the sermons, small groups, and classes, will be experiencing God’s Word in a whole new way as we look at the grand, unfolding story of the Bible as one sweeping narrative, arranged chronologically from Genesis to Revelation. Churches across the country who have done “The Story” have found their members growing in excitement and understanding of God’s Word and have seen many new faces as seekers have come to learn about God’s love for them as revealed through His Word. We have already purchased hundreds of copies of “The Story” in
preparation for this grand adventure.

Sunday School Check In

Children’s ministry – Our new check in system has taken the place of all of those handwritten name tags! Remember your first stop Sunday morning needs to be at the children’s check in station, centrally located at the north counter.  Here you will receive tags for your whole family with one security receipt to match all of your children.  Be sure to hold onto your parent receipt in order to pick up your child.  I case of a lost security parent sticker, you’ll be asked to fill out a security form and show your driver’s license. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.  Any questions please contact Rhonda Dolunt (Infant Preschool) at rhondad@twinoakschristian.com  or Deb Kok (K-5th grade) at debkok10@aol.com
