As fall approaches we need everyone doing their part to accomplish the ministry that God has given us at Twin Oaks. We need adult teachers, nursery/toddler workers, per-school teachers and helpers, puppeteers, k-5^th grade volunteers, small group hosts and leaders, jr. high and sr. high youth group volunteers, tutors for at-risk children in Detroit (once a month) and more. We’ll also cover how to become a member of God’s family and what it means to be an “official” member of the Twin Oaks family. Sunday, August 29, 2010 @ noon – Rapha House is the safe house we support in Cambodia that is helping over 100 young girls find hope and healing through Jesus after being rescued from sex traffickers. Rapha House Kids Club is the prevention project in Phnom Penh to help prevent girls children from begin trafficked in the first place. Many of you are sponsoring one of these children. Now it is your chance to meet these children face-to-face and share your love and time with them. We will be taking a group from Twin Oaks to Cambodia next February 21st – March 3rd to visit Rapha House’s 2 locations and help with Kids Club. If you are interested in this trip come to this meeting to find out more.

Are you an amateur photographer who would like to share your interest with other Twin Oakers and maybe refine your skills? Possibly attend a local photography class as a group? We’re having our first get together at the church on Wednesday, August 4th at 7pm. All skill levels are welcome. Just bring your camera and some of the favorite photos you’ve taken. July 25, 2010 will be the date to bring in the results from your SONfish banks.  If you don’t have a bank, please feel free to help in this outreach.  The Women’s Ministry is sponsoring a food project for the missions in Haiti.  Each bag contains 6 meals at 30cents per meal (including shipping).  This chicken flavored, rice-soy casserole is fortified with vitamins and minerals; developed to greatly improve the physical health of the children.  We have one little boy who has a lemonade stand and from his earnings will be helping to buy some food packets.  Please make your checks out to IDES: Haiti food packing.  Any questions, please contact Carol Larson, epoxyn@aol.com.
